Meridian Theory
This theory is an important part among the basic theories of TCM, and deals with the physiology and pathology of the meridian system. It also deals with the relationships between the meridians and zang-viscera and fu-viscera. The meridians and its collaterals form an organic system which links up the exterior, interior, upper and lower parts of the body forming a network between the zang-viscera and fu-viscera, tissues and organs ,and the circulation of qi and blood, the basic concepts are focused on here and include the distribution of the meridians ,the run and connection law, the pathways of the twelve regular meridians and eight extra meridians ,as well the physiological function of meridians ,and the application of meridian theory in pathology ,diagnosis and treatment.
