Difuzi Fructus Kochiae
The source is from the mature fruit of Kochia scoparia(L.) Schrad., family Chenopodiaceae. The medicinal material is produced in most areas of China, cut in autumn when the fruit is ripe, dried in the sun and then the fruit is collected and can be used in the crude form.
Medicinal Properties Bitter in flavor, cold in nature and attributive to the bladder meridian.
Actions Clear away heat and eliminate dampness, and alleviate itching.
Application
l. For dampness-heat in the bladder with dysuria, and difficulty and pain in urination, it is usually combined with Mutong ( Caulis Akebia), Qumai ( Herba Dianthi), and Dongkuizi ( Semen Abutili ), etc., such as Difuzi Tang (Decoction).
2. For skin eczema, damp sore and pruritussvuluae, it is usually combined with Shechuangzi (Fructus Cnidii ) , Chantui ( Periostracum Cicadae ), and Huangbai (Cortex Phellodendri), etc. which are decocted together for washing.
Usage and Dosage 10 - 15 g is used in decoction for oral use and just right amount for external use.
