  • Eliminating Acne, Chinese Medicine Has Effective Methods
    The skin lesions of this disease are the inflammatory papules with a white chalky core the size of a grain on the face, chest and back.

    It can be divided into 2 types: Patients with excessive heat pathogens in the lungs and stomach may have inflammatory skin lesions or pustules on the face, chiefly on the forehead and cheeks and beside the nose, red tongue proper with a yellow coating and rapid pulse; and patients with stagnation of phlegm may have papulovesicles, pustules, nodules or scars, dark red tongue proper with a white slippery coating and rapid slippery pulse. The skin lesions may last for a long time and repeatedly reappear.

    Recipe 1: Yiyiren (Job's tears) 30 g and fresh Zibei Tiankuicao (purple senecio) 50 g (or dried herb 15 g).
    Administration: Both materials are boiled in water which has been used for rice washing to make a gruel for oral intake after the herb is removed, once every 2 days. The liquid of the gruel may be applied to the skin lesions.
    Indication: This gruel can eliminate toxic-heat pathogens to treat acne due to accumulation of heat in the lungs and stomach.

    Recipe 2: Pipaye (loquot leaf) 10 g, raw gypsum 15 g, chrysanthemum 6 g and rice 60 g.
    Administration: The first 3 ingredients are wrapped in a piece of clean cloth and boiled in 3 bowls of water to prepare a decoction of 2 bowls, which is used to make a gruel with rice for oral intake once a day for half a month.
    Indication: This gruel can clear heat from the lungs and stomach to treat acne due to accumulation of heat in the lungs and stomach.

    Recipe 3: An adequate amount of orange seeds.
    Administration: Powder of the orange seeds is mixed with water to prepare a paste for application to the skin lesions overnight.
    Indication: This paste can be used to treat acne and black spots.

    Recipe 4: Haws 9 g, peach kernel 9 g, Beimu (fritillary bulb) 9 g, half a piece of lotus leaf and rice 50 g.
    Administration: A decoction of the first 4 ingredients is used to make a gruel with rice for oral intake once a day for 20-30 days.
    Indication: This gruel can promote blood circulation, release blood stasis and resolve accumulation of phlegm to treat acne due to accumulation of phlegm.

    Recipe 5: Almond 9 g, kelp 15 g, mung bean 15 g, rose (wrapped in a cloth bag) 6 g and a small amount of brown sugar.
    Administration: The above materials are boiled in water to make a soup for oral intake after the bag with the rose is removed, once a day for 20-30 days.
    Indication: This recipe is used to treat acne due to accumulation of phlegm.
