    TCM Treat Vomiting During Pregnancy

    In the early stage of pregnancy, women may suffer from nausea, vomiting even right after intake of food, dizziness and anorexia. This condition can be divided into 3 types: Patients with deficiency of the spleen and stomach may suffer from nausea, vomiting of food or clear fluid, anorexia, mental tiredness, sleepiness and pale tongue proper with white coating; patients with deficiency of stomach Yin may suffer from repeated vomiting with difficulty swallowing food, burning pain in the stomach, dryness in the mouth with desire to drink cold water and red bared tongue proper without saliva; and patients with disharmony between the liver and the stomach may suffer from vomiting of bitter or sour fluid, pain and distension of the chest and flanks, belching and sighing,the distension head and flushed face.

    Recipe 1: Cane juice 100 ml and juice of fresh ginger 10 ml.
    Administration: 30 ml of mixed juice of sugarcane and ginger is drunk 3 times a day.
    Indication: This juice can tonify the spleen and stomach to treat pregnant vomiting due to deficiency and coldness of the spleen and stomach.

    Recipe 2: Dried tangerine peel 15 g, fresh ginger 15 g and an adequate amount of brown sugar.
    Administration: The above materials are boiled to make a tea for drinking.
    Indication: This tea is used to treat pregnant vomiting due to deficiency of the spleen and stomach.

    Recipe 3: Dried tangerine peel 6 g, Zhuru (bamboo shavings) 9 g, furnace soil 50 g and a small amount of fresh ginger.
    Administration: Above ingredients are boiled to prepare a decoction for drinking several times per day, and the ginger is sucked. The treatment should be continued for several days.
    Indication: This recipe is used to treat pregnant vomiting due to deficiency of the spleen and stomach.

    Recipe 4: One skin of pomelo.
    Administration: A decoction of pomelo skin is drunk 3 times per day for several days.
    Indication: This decoction can disperse liver Qi, adjust stomach Qi and suppress adverse ascent of Qi to treat pregnant vomiting due to disharmony between the liver and the stomach.

    Recipe 5: Two pieces of Pipaye (loquat leaf) and honey 30g.
    Administration: A concentrated decoction of clean loquat leaves with the fur removed is mixed with honey for drinking.
    Indication: This recipe is used to treat pregnant vomiting due to deficiency of stomach Yin.

    Recipe 6: Dark plums 20 g and crystal sugar 25 g.
    Administration: A decoction of the plum and sugar is drunk.
    Indication: This decoction is used to treat pregnant vomiting due to disharmony between the liver and the stomach.
