Health Diet For Stopping Diarrhoea
a. Pomegranate skin and honey paste. Cut 1,000 g fresh pomegranate skin (half weight if dried) into small pieces and boil in water at a low heat. Drain off the liquid at one hour and a half intervals adding more water as required. Mix the 2 solutions and concentrate by simmering until sticky. Add 300 g honey. Once it has returned to the boil remove from the heat and let it cool. Take a spoonful of soup in hot water two or three times a day. b. Lotus seed cake. Take 50 g lotus seeds with sprouts discarded. Boil at a low heat until soft, then pound into a paste. Cook some rice, either regular or glutinous, and mix it with the paste. When thoroughly mixed, add white sugar, then administer. c. Pig's kidney thick soup. Take a pair of cleaned pig's kidneys and cut into small pieces after cutting away the white tissue of each piece. Add 12 g rhizoma drynariae and some water. Cook for 1 hour at low heat, then add some salt and flavouring. Take in one draught or 2 doses. This diet may be taken for 1-2 weeks, and is effective for chronic, prolonged and diarrhea before dawn. d. Lichee porridge. Crash 50 g dry lichee pulp with 16 g each lotus seeds and Chinese yam in a small mortar. Add water and cook until well done. e. Gorgon fruit powder. Pulverize 50 g peeled gorgon fruit. Rinse 100g rice, add the powder and sufficient water and cook until the rice becomes sticky. Good for chronic diarrhoea. f. Poria cake: Mix together 500 g fine Poria powder, 500 g rice powder and 100 g sugar. Make paste with water and make very thin cake by baking on a pan which can be served daily at will.
