Cibaonansheteng; Celastri Flagellaris Radix seu Caulis seu Fructus

Sources: The drug is the dried root, stem or fruit of Celastrus flagellaris Rupr. (family Celastraceae), growing in fields,  woods and near rivers,  distributed in Liaoning, Jiling,  Heilongjiang,  Hebei,  Shandong, Zhejiang of China.

Constituents: The fruit and seed contain celaxanthin and zeaxanthin.

Actions and Indications:  It is used to dispel wind and dampness, strengthen tendons and bones, promote blood circulation  and  relieve  pain;  for  the  treatment  of  arthralgia,  traumatic  injury,  and  innominatine swelling.
