![]() Operative Therapy |
Operative therapy is an external treatment of diseased part through using operative instruments. The operative treatment is necessary for some injuries of bones and joints that do not respond to non-operative treatment, such as debridement in open injury, incision and drainage of suppurative focus, removal of tumor focus, internal fixation in some fracture, anastomosis in breaking of nervous vascularis, etc. Since the operation often needs to cut and strip local tissues, making tissue resistance lower, if the aseptic technique is not strict, it is apt to lead to infection.
