Colds are virus-infected diseases in the upper respiratory tract and classified as common cold and influenza. Common cold, usually mild, results from rhinovirus infection and is characterized mainly by nasal symptoms. With a high morbidity and repeated infection tendency, common cold may occur all the year round but mostly in winter and spring. But influenza, usually widespread, is due to influenza virus infection and has pronounced systemic toxic symptoms.

1) Head and Neck: Taiyang, Sishencong, Tianzhu, Fengchi, Fengfu and Dazhui.
2) Back: Feishu
3) Upper Limbs: Chize, Jingqu, Zhigou and Hegu.
Posture: Sitting position or pronation.
Process:
Pound 20g of ginger and 20g of scallion stalk into a mash and wrap it with the gauze. Dip it in hot white spirit and rub the forehead and temple with it. Then scrap the both sides of spine on the back until the skin erubescence is gained. Lastly, scrap the chelidon and the popliteal space. Add the area of chest and abdomen if people feel nausea. Patient is mildly sweating after scrapping would be better. Take it 2-3 times a day.
Cupping Therapy
Select three acupoints: Dazhui, Feishu and Fengmen. Select two acupoints a day and these three acupoints can be selected interchangeably.
The big jar is more powerful in suction and can be sucked for 5-10 minutes. The small jar is relatively weak in suction and can be sucked for 10-15 minutes. Take cupping twice a day, morning and night and last for 3-5 days.
