Obstruction of retinal artery is an acute and severe eye trouble which involves the obstruction of the central artery of retina and obstruction of the branched artery of retina. In clinic, the case mainly manifests the symptoms of sudden visual diminishment and even blindness. Although its incidence is not high, the consequence by the disease is very severe. If it can not be treated instantly, blindness may occur in the end. The elderly people are the common victims of the disease, with a proportion of two male patients to one female. There is no difference whether the left or the right eye is affected but, in most cases, the disease attacks one eye.
